The crown jewel of our programming is our immersive summer camp experience. Moshava California, the newest of the 5 North American Moshava camps, ran its inaugural session in 2013 in Malibu, California. Since summer 2015, we’ve enjoyed summers at our new permanent home at the David Oved Retreat Center in Running Springs, CA, located in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains only two hours outside Los Angeles. Moshava California runs for nearly 8 weeks in the summer with two 3.5 week sessions for campers.
Moshava California offers 4 programs for campers ages 8-14. Mini-Mosh (4-day) and Kaytana (10-day) are our introductory program for boys and girls entering 3rd and 4th grade who are not ready for our full season, but want the fun and excitement of being in camp. These programs are specially geared for our younger ages, with an emphasis on their interests and with age-appropriate supervision and staff. Machane, our regular camp program, is for boys and girls entering 4th through 9th grade. This 3.5-week session includes the full range of camp activities, including sports, educational programming, color war, and all the ruach you would expect to find at a Moshava camp. Machal, which stands for Machane Chalutzi – Pioneer Camp – is the capstone program of any Moshava camp. Geared for boys and girls entering 10th grade, it involves a leadership training seminar with hiking, sleeping outdoors, trips, and bonding in the wilderness. Moshava California is also proud to partner with Yachad to run an inclusion program for campers with special needs across all camper ages.
